Sveza launches the portal of innovation

The portal will be a platform where requests from the timber industry group will meet with proposals from innovator companies. An innovative idea must have a prototype, and if experts assess its prospects, then the technology can be refined into an industrial prototype and tested at one of the Sveza's mills. Particularly interesting offers can be purchased. Participants are also given the opportunity to pilot a new product and have it evaluated by experts. If the launch is successful, Sveza will be able to support the promotion of the innovative solution on the market.
“The main motivation for the portal partners is the possibility of production testing of the new technology. Often small production facilities do not have the capacity for quality testing of innovative solutions. And we give you the opportunity to conduct a test run and implement their proposal in practice. For some companies it's an opportunity to work with a big company, for others it's a way to enter the market with a product or service,” said Olga Artemieva, project manager for business system development at Sveza.
The new resource will also be of interest to those companies that offer digital solutions, but do not work with wood processing and have no experience in implementing their products in this industry. Sveza specialists will help to adapt the digital technology to the requirements and tasks of the timber industry by providing a test run and trials. In this way, Sveza will get a solution to its problem, and the company-innovator will get a finalized product for replication in other industries.

You can apply for participation on the website by responding to one of the current requests or send your ideas if they meet the stated theme of the portal.
By adopting a new development strategy, Sveza has set its sights on innovation. Over the years, new products, technologies and modern solutions have been consistently launched in production. Currently, Sveza has already embedded artificial intelligence, VR technology, neural networks, and more into its technological and administrative processes. Modern solutions help us to control product quality, improve logistics services, and assist in the selection, adaptation, and training of personnel.

Sveza follows the sustainable development principles including the environmental footprint reduction, environmental safety programs development, forests rehabilitation and zero waste approach. For example, specialists at the Sveza mill in Kostroma have found and patented a way to glue firewood and turn the sawing residue into commercial wood that can be used to produce plywood. The technology, which has no analogues anywhere else in the world, will save up to 40 cars of raw materials per year and bring Sveza closer to the goal of zero-waste production.
In creating the product, Sveza focuses on the customer's needs and offers solutions to help grow their business. In response to this need, Sveza specialists were the first in the world to develop an unique flexible plywood – SVEZA Flex. This product for the construction of geometrically complex structures immediately became in high demand.
To implement the best ideas, Sveza opened technology development centers in St. Petersburg and Kostroma. We are preparing to launch an R&D center that will become an experimental site and maximize the speed of progress from the idea to the product prototype.
